Elizabethton Housing Development Agency & Elizabethton Police Department The City agrees that the police department will employ a community policing concept and that the police will assist in developing or enhancing crime prevention programs in public housing communities. 
As members of the community, the Elizabethton Police Department Substation Officers strive to form partnerships within the EHDA community to provide professional law enforcement, problem-oriented policing, community service, and public safety education in order to enhance the quality of life for the members of this community. These partnerships are form through various programs which include:

Drug/Alcohol Awareness Prevention
Fire Safety/Prevention
National Night Out
Neighborhood Watch
