New mural brightens Elizabethton Library
ELIZABETHTON (Oct 2, 2018) — The children’s and teen section of the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library has a bright new look intended to help the young patrons feel the library belongs to them just as much as it does to the adults.
The new look is a mural in vivid colors that depicts characters from “Where the Wild Things Are,” “Adventure Time” and “Alice in Wonderland.” Another wall features the word “supernatural” in graffiti style. The work has just been completed by Daruth Padilla and Christina Majic. They quickly completed the work, using spray paint.
The mural combines graffiti art with the best illustrations of children’s books and fulfills the library staff’s desire to make a comfortable and warm place for its youngest patrons.
