Stormwater Quality Program

BlueHoleThe City of Elizabethton operates a federally mandated stormwater quality program. The purpose of the program is to prevent pollution of rainwater runoff. Examples of pollution sources include parking lot and street runoff, construction project runoff, illegal dumping of motor oil and trash, etc. into stormwater drains. An important part of this program is to ensure that new residential, commercial and industrial developments will have a minimum effect on water quality. The end goal of this program is to make sure that our rivers, streams and lakes are preserved for enjoyment by future generations.
