The Franklin Pool will open for the 2017 season just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. Saturday May 27, 2017 will be the first day of operations beginning at 10AM until 5:30PM and open daily through Labor Day Weekend. The pool hours daily will be as follows:
Mon – Friday: 11AM – 5:30PM
Please be advised that this season the baby pool area will be closed as staff makes way for a new splash pad facility which will be installed after the 2017 swim season.
Daily admission rates will be $3.00. Children under the age of 5 will be free with a paying adult. All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Group Rates, private evening rentals and pavilion rentals are also available. For more information call 423-547-6280.
Covered Bridge Jams
Covered Bridge Jams is a FREE concert series that takes place on Saturday nights at Covered Bridge stage during the summer months from 7 PM - 9 PM. This series features top names in local music including country, bluegrass, gospel, classic rock and more. Last year hundreds of people came out to take part in this Parks and Recreation sponsored event while enjoying the beautiful view at scenic Covered Bridge Park.
Several shops and restaurants are a short walk away to make a full event of your evening with us at Covered Bridge Jams.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the tunes!

Lifeguards Needed at Franklin Pool
The City of Elizabethton’s Franklin Pool will soon be hiring Lifeguards for the 2017 summer season.
This position supervises all patrons that visit the pool facility, performs daily maintenance, administers First Aid and CPR, and completes accident reports and other duties as assigned.
• MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Lifeguard Certification and current CPR and Basic First Aid Certificate.
• Starting rate of pay for this position is $7.32/hour.

The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities for the citizens of Elizabethton. With the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains and scenic rivers as a backdrop the Parks and Recreation Department now maintains seventeen recreational facilities throughout Elizabethton. Walking and bike trails, tennis courts, an outdoor aquatics facility, the Elizabethton Recreation Center, playground equipment, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, picnic pavilions and thirteen athletic fields make up a unique blend of recreational opportunities for all ages.The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department also offers a variety of athletic leagues and programs with more than 1,500 participants in leagues including Flag Football, Coed Volleyball, Kickball and Basketball. At the heart of the program and home to business offices is the Recreation Center, a facility that offers athletic leagues, dance and exercise classes, a conference room, meetings, private parties, community events, morning walking and more.
