FINANCE CLERK

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a full-time Finance Clerk in the Finance Department. This position operates a cash drawer; accepts electric, water and accounts receivable payments; and answers phone calls and customer questions regarding city operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  High School Diploma or GED equivalent and must be able to be bonded. 

ANNUAL PAY: $23,254.40.

CONSTRUCTION WORKER

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a Construction Worker in the Water Resources Department. This position constructs and installs new lines, installs taps for new construction, repairs leaks, installs meters, conducts back flush at pump stations, operates city vehicles and equipment, sets hydrants, maintains manholes and equipment, and performs other essential duties as required. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid TN Driver’s License and High School Diploma or GED equivalent. The successful applicant must have or obtain a Class A CDL License within 6 months.

ANNUAL PAY: $29,203.

POLICE OFFICERS
Annual Testing

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the entry level police officer testing process through Tuesday, June 21st.

Minimum Requirements:  Must be a U. S. Citizen, High School Diploma or GED, and 21 years of age. Application process includes a written test, physical agility test, structured interview, and an extensive background review.

Entry Level Base Pay: $ 33,264.14 + opportunity for overtime.

Benefits:  Medical, Life, Vision, TCRS Retirement, holiday pay, take home vehicle, uniforms, police equipment, and training provided.

Lateral entry positions
available for currently certified police officers. Base Pay Range: $34,958 to $43,965 + opportunity for overtime. Benefits same as listed above. The City waives the entry level test process for applicants that qualify for the lateral entry program.

SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKERS

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications Seasonal Maintenance Workers in the Parks & Recreation Department. This position performs maintenance on playground equipment, mowers, trailers, and small machinery, mows grass, removes trash, maintains athletic fields, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, valid Driver’s License, and at least 18 years of age.

RATE OF PAY: $11.18/hr.

TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a Treatment Plant Operator in the Water Resources Department. This position monitors, operates and maintains the plants, makes operational adjustments as required, collects and analyzes samples, assists in operation and maintenance of laboratories, operates city vehicles and equipment, and performs other essential duties as assigned.

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Pool Facility Manager ($11.44/hour) and Lifeguards ($8.32/hour).

System Engineer

The City of Elizabethton is seeking a System Engineer for the Electric Department. This position performs professional engineering, construction, maintenance and inspection of electrical distribution and substation facilities and ensures engineering compliance with all applicable codes, regulations standards and specifications pertaining to the Electric System. 

REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and five or more years in the field of electric power line systems is desired. Applicants for this position must have knowledge of insurance policies and coverage, excellent computer, communication and organizational skills and must be competent in the study, design and construction of all aspects of the electric utility industry.
