GOLF PROFESSIONAL

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Golf Professional at the Elizabethton Municipal Golf Course. This full-time, exempt position directs, plans, supervises, and coordinates all aspects of the operation of the course; controls golf play, schedules and directs tournaments and pro shop operations; promotes and markets the use of the municipal golf course; and ensures conformance with rules, regulations, and policies of the City. This position reports to the City Manager.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in golf course operations, business management, or closely related field; PGA Class A Professional Certificate; valid Driver License.

Preferred: Five (5) years’ experience in golf operations with at least two (2) years of the five (5) years being supervisory experience.

Annual Pay: up to $64,001.60 based on qualifications.

GOLF SUPERINTENDENT

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Golf Superintendent at the Elizabethton Municipal Golf Course. This full-time, exempt position supervises the maintenance and development of the municipal golf course. The position shall provide players with a course and practice areas which provide excellent playing conditions and exceptional turf management. This position reports to the Golf Professional.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in golf course turf management, Horticulture or Agronomy with a Turf Grass Major or equivalent and considerable experience in the maintenance of golf courses, with at least two (2) years supervisory experience in course maintenance; Certified pesticides licenses from the Department of Agriculture; valid Driver License.

Annual Pay: up to $58,240.00 based on qualifications.

ASSISTANT GOLF SUPERINTENDENT

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Assistant Golf Superintendent at the Elizabethton Municipal Golf Course. This part-time position assists the Golf Superintendent with the maintenance and development of the municipal golf course. This position reports to the Golf Superintendent.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); considerable knowledge of Turf Grass Maintenance and maintenance of municipal golf course; and two (2) years supervisory experience in course maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience; valid Driver License.

Preferred: Certified pesticides licenses from the Department of Agriculture

Hourly Pay: up to $20.00 based on qualifications.

MECHANIC

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Mechanic at the Elizabethton Municipal Golf Course. This full-time position maintains all equipment for the course, which includes repair and maintenance work on tractors, chemicals sprayers, golf carts, other specialized golf course equipment, and other related duties.

Minimum Requirements: One-year certificate from college or technical school; or high school diploma or GED equivalent and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; valid Driver License.

Preferred: Certification from relevant equipment manufacturers.

Annual Pay: up to $41,600.00 based on qualifications.

GREENS TECHNICIAN

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Greens Technician at the Elizabethton Municipal Golf Course. This position maintains the grounds for the course, which includes mowing, weed eating, landscaping, removing trash/brush/debris, and other duties related to upkeeping the condition of the course. There will be full-time and part-time opportunities for this position.

Minimum Requirements: One-year certificate from college or technical school; or high school diploma or GED equivalent and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; valid Driver License.

Hourly Pay: ranges from $12.33 to $16.09 based on qualifications.

PRO SHOP ATTENDANT

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Pro Shop Attendant at the Elizabethton Municipal Golf Course. This position facilitates a positive experience for patrons of the course through operating the golf shop, assisting patrons, collecting, and accounting for fees, and other related duties. There will be full-time and part-time opportunities for this position.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months related experience and/or training; valid Driver License.

Hourly Pay: $12.33

PLANNING DIRECTOR

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for Planning Director. This position supervises the Planning and Building Departments. This position is responsible for ensuring all Planning functions are complete and goals are met by directing activities related to urban planning, zoning, building codes and community development; manages, administers and coordinates grants obtained by the City; and carries out other functions as directed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Master's degree in urban planning, public administration, architecture, or a related field or be AICP certified; and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible planning experience with at least three of those years being supervisory experience.

SALARY RANGE:  DOQ.

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a Human Resources and Payroll Specialist in the Human Resources Department. This position performs complex tasks and paraprofessional work in supporting the Human Resources and Payroll functions of the City and will assist the Payroll Technician with all aspects of the payroll process.

PART-TIME & SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKERS

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for Part-Time and Seasonal Maintenance Workers in the Parks & Recreation Department. These positions perform maintenance on playground equipment, mowers, trailers, and small machinery, mows grass, removes trash, maintains athletic fields, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, valid Driver’s License, and at least 18 years of age.

RATE OF PAY: $12.33/hr.

These positions are not eligible for benefits.
