POOL MANAGER and LIFEGUARDS

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Pool Facility Manager ($11/hour) and Lifeguards ($8/hour).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid TN Driver’s License and current Certifications:  Lifeguard, CPR and Basic First Aid.

PART-TIME and SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKERS

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for Part-Time ($9.28/hr) and Seasonal ($8.00/hr) Maintenance Workers in the Parks & Recreation Department. These positions perform maintenance on playground equipment, mowers, trailers, and small machinery, mows grass, removes trash, maintains athletic fields, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, valid Driver’s License, and at least 18 years of age.

CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Chief Building Official. This position reports to the Director of Planning and Economic Development and aids in the supervision of the Codes Division. This position receives and reviews construction documents, issues permits, inspects building sites to determine compliance with building codes, and manages the City’s floodplain program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Associate degree from a two-year college or a certificate from an accredited technical training institution in building inspection technology, construction technology, or other construction related field; and a minimum 8 years of diverse codes inspector, codes enforcement, or construction related experience of which a minimum 5 years was supervisory.

Must possess some combination of the following: NEC Electrical Inspector Certification, ICC Residential Combination Inspector Certification, ICC Commercial Combination Inspector Certification.

SALARY RANGE:  DOQ.

BUILDING CODES INSPECTOR

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Building Codes Inspector in the Building Department. This position inspects electrical, gas, mechanical, building, and plumbing work on building construction and enforces the sign ordinance and related building codes. The successful applicant must have or obtain NEC Electrical Inspector Certification, ICC Residential Combination Inspector Certification, and ICC Commercial Combination Inspector Certification.   

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Certificate from an accredited technical training institution in building inspection technology, construction technology, or other construction related field; and minimum of five (5) years of construction related experience with preferred state license in a construction trade.

SALARY RANGE: DOQ.

General Manager of Electric Services

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the General Manager of Electric Services. This position reports to the City Manager and manages and supervises the Electric Department.

This position is responsible for all daily operations of the Electric Department.  The General Manager supervises the five divisions of the Electric Department, prepares the Electric Department annual operating budget, forecasts annual operations, and carries out other directions of the City Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering, Business Management or related field with two to three (2-3) years’ related experience; or five to ten (5-10) years’ of progressively responsible experience including the supervision of employees.  Experience at an LPC in the TVA service area preferred.

System Engineer

The City of Elizabethton is seeking a System Engineer for the Electric Department. This position performs professional engineering, construction, maintenance and inspection of electrical distribution and substation facilities and ensures engineering compliance with all applicable codes, regulations standards and specifications pertaining to the Electric System. 

REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and five or more years in the field of electric power line systems is desired. Applicants for this position must have knowledge of insurance policies and coverage, excellent computer, communication and organizational skills and must be competent in the study, design and construction of all aspects of the electric utility industry.
