What an awesome Saturday night in downtown Elizabethton

Many ask what makes living in Elizabethton and our community so special. To answer that question, all one had to do was be in Downtown Elizabethton on Saturday night November 18th.
Starting off with the traditional lighting of the Fraser Fir sponsored by Carter County Bank with World Series champion Evan Carter throwing the switch with hundreds of onlookers to the closing Evan Carter Day Parade of Champions, it shows what a real community looks like.
People coming together to enjoy and celebrate the opportunity to live in such a community as we have.
There were so many people involved in making tonight special for everyone but a special thanks needs to be extended to people behind the scenes to pull such an event off.
The Elizabethton City School system for pulling the parade together and all the schools in the city working to make such a special parade and night for Carter and his family.
Carter County Bank and all their hard work in another great tree lighting ceremony.
The City of Elizabethton police officers, street department, fire department, park and recreation department, food truck vendors, and volunteers that did all the behind the scenes work to make sure the parade and tree lighting were safe and enjoyable for everyone.
And last but not least World Series Champion Evan Carter and family who took time out of a busy schedule to remember the community where he grew up and first wet his feet in the game of baseball.
Thank you to all that came out on this special night. There are more special events to come this holiday season so make sure to come out to each one.
